Dear New ErlangerQuote User:

We would like to welcome you to trying out ErlangerQuote, which we feel is the most powerful charting package on the market today. This document contains important information about your account, and details on how to get the best use from ErlangerQuote.

TECH SUPPORT

ErlangerQuote technical support is email based and you can send a message about a problem you have having to our ErlangerQuote support person at support@erlangerquote.com.  Please include the version of ErlangerQuote you are using, your ErlangerQuote screen name, the exact problem you are having. If you have problems logging into the data feed service (e.g. Quote.com) you will need to talk to the feed company, and make sure your name and password for that service is correct.

MANUAL

There is an excellent manual at http://www.erlangerquote.com/manual.htm which has both HTML and PDF versions of the chapters available. We highly recommend you read that manual, since 90% of the questions we get are answered there.

THE GATE

There are a large collection of ErlangerQuote resources available on theGate. TheGate is a server that all ErlangerQuote users have access to, and that acts like a large hard disk with lots of folders. Each folder has a name that helps identify what is inside it. Check out people's workspaces which you can open right from the gate by double clicking. See the manual for more about theGate. To open theGate click on the small sunflower icon which is the first one on the main Toolbar.

SELECTING QUOTE.COM SERVERS

When you first start ErlangerQuote the second login dialog to appear is for Quote.com. On this dialog is a drop down menu called Servers, which is where you can control what Quote.com QFeed servers that ErlangerQuote connects to. If you hold down the control key when you start ErlangerQuote, you can prevent this dialog from automatically logging in so you can alter its content. After you have the Quote.com dialog, from the Server drop down menu select Default Continuum.lst. Using this selection causes Quote.com to control what server you are connected to. We highly recommend that you use this selection, as it will give you the most reliable connections and delay, and allow the logic of the server farm to decided where you connect most optimally. If you want to connect to a specific server, instead of selecting Default Continuum.lst, you can select a specific server from this drop down list. However, if you select a specific server you will not be able to change servers from inside the program. Again for best results, we suggest you use Default Continuum.lst and let the QFeed technology farm select your server.
